Deb Moskowitz is a Florida Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, Supreme Court of Florida Qualified Arbitrator, and Certified Mediator for the Middle District of Florida who brings to every matter, insights from being a seasoned litigator, managing partner, entrepreneur, and civic leader. Before becoming a mediator and arbitrator, Deb most recently served as Managing Partner of the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, the largest minority and women owned law firm in the United States with 35 offices across the country from 2003 through 2023. Deb also served as a Partner in the firm's Chicago office from 2012 through 2023. Under her leadership, the Orlando office of QPWB grew to be the second largest in the firm.
She is admitted to the state bars of Florida, Illinois, Tennessee and Texas. She is also licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, all Federal Districts of Florida and the Western District of Michigan as well as Federal Courts in Texas and Tennessee. Deb has attained the highest Peer Review Rating of AV® Preeminent from the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory.
Deb has valuable insights about the myriad of issues involved both in litigating a dispute, and in the context of the interests and considerations beyond the matter being litigated. She brings to every mediation and arbitration the understanding and dedication honed by her diverse background litigating, counseling and managing.
Over a decades long trial career, Deb gained a wealth of experience in personal injury, premises liability, professional liability and employment matters. She handled a broad range of matters including claims against health care professionals and entities including doctors, nurses, physical therapists, advanced registered nurse practitioners, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and CCRCs as well as claims involving hospitality interests, car dealerships, and other companies both large and small.
Beyond litigation, Deb has counseled businesses on structure, various aspects of operations and risk management as their external general counsel. She also knows the ins and outs of business ownership as she has owned and operated Fat Cat Gourmet Foods, LLC a gourmet hot sauce and condiment company with her husband since 2010.
Deb is a member of the American Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers and the Phi Delta Phi Honors Legal Fraternity as well as Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She is a past president of the Board of Trustees of the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association and still serves as a Trustee and a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem. She has served as a Guardian Ad Litem for more than 20 years, receiving the Elizabeth Susan Khoury Guardian Ad Litem Award of Excellence in 2015. She received the Presidential Leadership Award from the Orange County Bar Association for 2021-2022.
Deb’s community involvement is broad and deep and includes being the current Chair of the Orange County Board of Zoning Adjustment and serving on the District 1 Taskforce for the City of Orlando. In addition, Deb was selected as one of the Orlando Magazine’s Women of the Year for 2019; is a member of Iron Arrow, the highest honor which may be bestowed upon an alum or faculty member of the University of Miami; and was elected to serve as a Director on the University of Miami Alumni Association Board of Directors (June 2024 – June 2027).
